This is a gorgeous edition of The Works of Alfred Lord Tennyson, Poet Laureate. 
Published in 1902 by Macmillan and Co.
Bound in brown leather with a decorative gilt border to the front and rear boards, five raised bands to the spine with gilt detail to the panels, and the title and date in gilt. The boards are in very good condition and the binding is firm. There is some rubbing to the front and rear joints and to the head of the spine and some very minor wear to the corners/edges. There is a crack to the gutter at the prelims but it is superficial. The contents are very good - lightly age toned but otherwise clean. Green marbled endpapers. The front and rear flyleaves each have a brown mark around the page edge. Half title page. Frontispiece with tissue guard. Full Title Page. pp. viii; 900 + index. All edges gilt.
