Bound in the original publisher's burgundy cloth, blocked in gilt to the spine and upper board. The boards are in very good, vibrant condition with some rubbing and bumping to the edges, corners and to the head and tail of the spine. The spine has faded slightly by comparison. In the first state with p96 misnumbered p69. Frontispiece with tissue guard. Pictorial title page. Beautifully illustrated in black and white. The contents are lightly age toned with sme occasional foxing/browning. Deckle edged.Top edge gilt.
 
A very good copy of this lovely book, which collects the author's assorted magazine stories, including four relating to Oswald Bastable and his family, first introduced in Nesbit's The Story of the Treasure Seekers in 1899.
