This is a lovely book of poetry for children, featuring verses on subjects such as the seasons, animals, the sea, humour and geography, by well-known poets such as William Wordsworth, Shakespeare, Robert Louis Stevenson, William Blake and Lord Tennyson. With a engraved colour title page and illustrations throughout by F. D. Bedford.
 
Bound in the original publisher's white pictorial cloth. Externally this book is in good overall condition- there is some wear to the extremities, some discolouration to the spine and a stain to the rear board. Beautiful pictorial endpapers which are clean and free from inscriptions. Ink inscription to the half title page dated 1907. The contents are lightly age toned with some browning/spotting to the preliminary pages and end pages and the occasional spot of light foxing throughout. Internally there cracks to the hinges in places and the book feels slightly shaken, though the contents are firmly bound.
