This is a lovely edition of The Poems of Matthew Arnold 1840 - 1867. 
Oxford Edition. Published in 1909 by Henry Frowde, Oxford University Press. 
Bound in blue faux leather with a gilt geometric design with red floral detail to the front board and gilt lettering to both front and spine. The boards are in very good condition with some light rubbing and bumping to the edges, corners and to the head and tail of the spine, and sunning to the spine. Pale green/ivory marbled endpapers with a fold out award to the front pastedown, presented to Miss Thompson for Science and Drawing, and an additional award sticker to the front free endpaper, again to Miss Thompson for Arithmetic. Both dated July 22nd 1916. The contents are good, pages clean and bright with only mild browning to the edges of the preliminary pages. All edges gilt. pp.460. 18.5cm x 13cm.
