1911 Aucassin and Nicolete

This is a lovely edition of Aucassin and Nicolete. Translated and edited with an introduction by Harold Child. A French medieval love story written circa 1300, and beautifully illustrated by A. Andersen.
Published in 1911 by Adam & Charles Black.
Bound in the original publisher's beige cloth with an elaborate blue floral design to the front cover and spine. Blue lettering to the front and spine.
The boards are lightly soiled and the spine is slightly more faded. There is light wear to the head and tail of the spine, but otherwise the condition is good.
Ink inscription to front free end paper. The text on each page is surrounded by a beautifully decorative and delicate border. There are six colour illustrations, each with a captioned tissue guard.
The pages are lightly age toned. There is very light occasional foxing with some browning to the endpapers, but otherwise the pages are clean and bright. pp.132. c.25.5cm x 19.5cm.
Overall a beautiful book.
