1915 - 1920 The Great World War: A History. Complete in Nine Volumes.
This is a lovely set of books entitled The Great World Ward: A History - Complete in Nine Volumes. Edited by Frank. A. Mumby. with contributions by David Hannay, C. Grahame-White, Harry Harper, Edwin Sharpe Grew and others. Published [1915 - 19120] by The Gresham Publishing Company Limited: London. Complete in nine volumes, and in used but good condition. All volumes are quarter bound in the publisher's original calf binding with brownish/maroon cloth covered boards. Externally there are signs of wear. All volumes have some rubbing and bumping to the edges, corners and to the head and tail of the spine, and a couple are slightly cocked. There are a few scratches and areas of fading to the boards, but this is all very superficial. Internally this set is in very good condition indeed. The pages are clean and bright, and they feature photogravures, coloured maps and plans [including fold out maps] and numerous black and white in text images throughout. Marbled edges, It really is an impressive and information set, and would be a perfect gift for anyone interested in the history of the great war. Very heavy - c.14kg without packaging.
