This is a lovely boxed presentation set of The Plays of George Bernard Shaw in 12 volumes. Published in 1929 by Constable & Company Limited, London. Bound in navy blue leatherette with gilt detail to the spine and a facsimile author's signature on the front covers and the top of the box. The presentation box is blue cloth covered wood, with gilt facsimile signature to top and hinged section with protective blue velvet interior. The box itself has some wear, as it visible in the photographs, but it has protected the books beautifully. Each book has a presentation label to Mr. W. R. Anderson by the Leigh Literary Society 1931. Each volume with gilt top edge and silk ribbon, and text is lovely and clean throughout. The volumes included are as follows: Plays Unpleasant Plays Pleasant Three Plays for Puritans The Doctors Dilemma Man and Superman Back to Methuselah Saint Joan Androcles and the Lion Heartbreak House Misalliance Translation and Tomfooleries, John Bulls other Island.
