Publisher's blue cloth with gilt titles and decoration to the front board and spine. The boards are in very good condition with some light wear to the extremities. Decorative endpapers. There is an ink inscription to the reverse of the ffep dated 1943. The contents are lightly age toned with the occasional minor spot of foxing, but otherwise clean and bright throughout. Illustrated with twelve colour plates including frontispiece plus numerous line drawings within the text.
