1969 Medallic Illustrations of the History of Great Britain and Ireland

This is a two volume set entitled Medallic Illustrations of the History of Great Britain and Ireland to the Death of George II. Compiled by the late Edward Hawkins and edited by Augustus Franks and Herbert Grueber. 
Originally published by The Trustees of the British Museum in 1885 and reprinted by Spink and Son Ltd in 1969. 
Bound in blue/black faux leather with silver lettering to the spine. The boards are in very good condition with minor bumping to the corners and some very light wear to the head and tail of the spine. Volume two has a crease to the spine. White endpapers, each volume having a bookplate to the front pastedown. The pages are clean and bright and only slightly age toned. Vol 1 pp.724. Vol 2 pp.866. 23cm x 15cm.
Heavy set, weighing 2.5kg without packaging.
