This is a beautiful set of A Library of Choice Prose in 12 Volumes, complete with original storage box. Undated but c. 1900. Published by Gresham Publishing. Each volume is in beautiful condition. Bound in soft grey/green cloth with a lovely gilt/green Art Nouveau design to the spine with gilt lettering, and a pictorial design to the front cover, also in gilt/green. Decorative endpapers which are free from inscriptions. Contents clean and bright. Top edges gilt. The set comes complete with the original green storage box, which has not fared so well over the years, but which has undoubtedly protected the books from damage. It is soiled, scratched, worn around the edges and the rear top edge of the lid has split, though it remains firmly attached due to the fabric covering. When the lid is opened the underside of the lid has a label entitled 'A Library of Choice Prose,' and a list of the writers and their works that make up the set. It also has a name on it, written in ink. A truly lovely and somewhat scarce set, in exceptionally good condition.
