This is the third story in Enid Blyton's popular 'Adventure Series' and tells the story of the much-loved characters Philip, Dinah, Jack, Lucy-Ann, Bill Smugs and Kiki the parrot as they 'literally drop from the skies into a strange and thrilling adventure. A lonely and deserted valley - half ruined houses, towering mountains - caves and underground passages - treasure! But what treasure? and where is it hidden? Who is after it? This is the riddle the children set themselves to solve.' 

 

First UK edition. First printing. Original decorated beige cloth featuring brown/green pictorial detail and lettering to the front cover and spine. The boards are in very good condition with minimal signs of wear and a slight forward lean. The dust jacket is unclipped [7s. 6d NET] and in good condition with light wear to the extremities and a couple of small chips to the corners. The jacket has had repairs, with tape added to the reverse of the jacket. Plain endpapers which are clean, with only a small ink inscription to the upper front free endpaper. Illustrated frontispiece and title page. Contents lightly age toned with a few brown spots to the first few pages (as shown in image of page 1), but beyond that they are clean and bright. Minor age spotting to page edges. Overall a beautiful copy of this highly collectable book!
