This is the eighth story in Enid Blyton's popular 'Adventure Series' and tells the story of the much-loved characters Philip, Dinah, Jack, Lucy-Ann, and Kiki the parrot as they go on a trip down a river in a far-off land!
 
First UK edition. First printing. Original decorated beige cloth featuring brown/green pictorial detail and lettering to the front cover and spine. The boards are in very good condition with minimal signs of wear and the slightest darkening to the cloth at the edges. The dust jacket is unclipped showing the original 8s. 6d price and is in very good overall condition with only minor chips and light wear to the extremities. Tape has been added to the reverse of the jacket, I assume to strengthen/preserve those areas with wear.  Plain endpapers with an ink inscription to the front pastedown. Illustrated frontispiece and title page. Contents lightly age toned but otherwise clean and bright. Minor age spotting to page edges. Overall a beautiful copy of this highly collectable book!
