This is a collection of seventeen illustrated volumes of the works of Charles Dickens. There were originally twenty-two volumes published. Original publisher's green cloth with gilt detail and lettering to the front cover and spine. The boards to all volumes are in good condition with light surface wear and rubbing/bumping to the edges, corners and to the head and tail of the spine. Yellow endpapers. Some volumes have a prize sticker to the front pastedown - the writing has since been crossed out. The contents are lightly age toned with intermittent foxing throughout and a few handling marks - foxing heavier in some places. The titles included and condition notes are as follows:

Oliver Twist has some white splash? marks to the front board and a water mark to upper section of frontispiece - does not affect image at all.
Christmas Books has some pale splash? marks to front and rear boards. Superficial only.
Martin Chuzzlewit - volume is a little shaken. Chip to cloth on spine.
Barnaby Rudge - small tear to outer edge frontispiece. Does not affect image.
There are many different editions of the works of Charles Dickens, but this set is particularly enjoyable to read, partly because of its large format but also because of the illustrations, which are fun, adding to the enjoyment.
