Binding: Uniformly half leather bound with red marbled boards. All volumes are in good condition with some fading/discolouration to the spine and rubbing/bumping to the edges, corners and to the head and tail of the spine. The contents are all very good - lightly age toned with some foxing to the preliminary and endpapers, light/medium intermittent foxing throughout and slightly heavier foxing/browning to illustrated pages. All volumes feature beautiful and detailed illustrations. Specific condition points for each volume will be described below.
David Copperfield: Bound in a single volume. With sixty-one illustrations by J. Barnard. This volume has a few scratches to the front boards and some chips to the leather (pictured). The front and rear free endpapers are creased and the preliminary pages have more significant spots of foxing. p.55 is loose and the page edge is tatty, caused by it sitting proud.
Our Mutual Friend & Nicholas Nickleby. with fifty-eight illustrations by J. Mahoney. Slight fading to front board down the outer edge. Crease to front free endpaper.
