Three volumes bound in full calf with gilt lettering over red leather title bands to the spines. The condition of each individual volume is detailed below:

Volume I: Some surface soiling and scratching to the boards with rubbing and bumping to the edges and corners and to the head and tail of the spine with some fraying to the lower spine. There are cracks to both the upper and lower front joint making it more fragile than the other volumes. Some discolouration to preliminary blanks in first volume and a large stain to engraved title page only slightly transferring on to main title page. Beyond this the text block is predominently clean with some light occasional foxing/browning which becomes a little heavier towards the end of the volume. Some plates are oxidised. The family register follows the title page and has seven entries relating to the Taylor family, dating from 1831 - 1841.

Volume II: The boards have wear consistent with volume one with darkening to the lower half of the rear board and a crack to the upper and lower front joint, though it is much stronger than volume I. The preliminary pages up to the title page have what is possibly an old water stain to the lower part of each page. Contents age toned with moderate foxing throughout, mostly to the outer edge of each page. As with all volumes, some plates are oxidised.

Volume III: Wear consistent with the volumes I and II, with cracks to the upper and lower front joints and some dark marks to the front board. More significant wear to the upper and lower spine with a small section of loss to the leather at the the upper rear joint. Contents consistent with other volumes - a much smaller (water?) mark to the lower pages up to the title page. Beyond that there is moderate foxing to the outer edges of the pages, curling to the lower right page corners and a few grubby pages to towards the end of the book. All superficial and does not affect text.
