This is an lovely edition Fairy Tales and Legends by Hans Andersen, featuring illustrations by Rex Whistler. First published in this format in 1935. This edition published in 1959 by The Bodley Head: London. Blue cloth with an elaborate gilt decoration to the front cover and spine and a delicate floral design in red which borders the title, also in red. The boards are in very good condition, with some rubbing and bumping to the edges, corners and to the head and tail of the spine. There is some discolouration at the edges of the boards and also to the spine. The contents are clean and bright, with only a small ownership stamp to the half title page. No dust jacket.
