This is a beautiful edition of Andersen's Fairy Tales, bound in the original publisher's green cloth pictorial binding featuring gilt decoration and lettering to both the front cover and spine. Slightly shaken though solidly bound - the bevelled boards are in very good condition with some light rubbing and bumping to the edges, corners and to the head and tail of the spine. There is a small white mark to the front board, as shown in the images. Yellow endpapers with an ink inscription to the front free endpaper dated 1903. The contents are age toned with some light foxing, mostly to the preliminary and end pages. Featuring a frontispiece in colour with tissue guard which has some browning; full page monochrome plates and numerous in text illustrations. 
 
A delightful and somewhat scarce edition.
