The Ingoldsby Legends are a collection of myths, legends, ghost stories and poems written by Richard Harris Barham, born in Canterbury in 1788. 
 
This is a lovely edition, bound in soft pink cloth that features an attractive botanical design in brown and gilt lettering to the front cover and spine. The bevelled boards are in very good condition with some fading to the spine and minor wear to the extremities. Patterned endpapers which are free from inscriptions. The contents are lightly age toned with some intermittent foxing, more so to the preliminary pages and endpapers. Spotting to page edges. All edges gilt.
