Bound in the publishers decorative cloth with a stunning gilt design to the covers and spine. The bevelled boards are in good overall condition. They are slightly worn, with wear to the extremities and bumping to the edges, corners and to the head and tail of the spine. The spine feels a little shaken, but the binding remains good. A previous bookseller has written notes in pencil to the verso of the front free endpaper. The pages are lightly age toned with intermittent spotting/foxing throughout. Featuring beautiful vignettes throughout the text engraved by the Brothers Dalziel and drawn by John Gilbert, J. Wolf, H. Weir, and J. D. Watson.Bound by Edmonds.
Overall a stunning book and a wonderful collection of poetry by an English poet, author, and advocate of women's rights and education.
