Condition: Whilst the condition is good overall, there are some issues.  
 
Brown cloth featuring a gilt pictorial detail to the front cover and gilt lettering to the spine. The boards are in good condition with some light wear to the extremities. Black endpapers which are free from inscriptions.
 
Volume I does have some issues: It has as a slight forward lean.The title page, dedication page and preface are detached, but they sit neatly in place. There is a crack to the hinge at pages 112-113 and pages 147-153 are detached, but again, they sit neatly in place. 
 
Volume II is much better but it does have a crack to the hinge, also at pages 112-113. 
 
The contents of both volumes are good, with some light age toning. 
 
Featuring chapters on a variety of subjects, such as The Gunpowder Plot, The Massacre of Amboyna, The Lancashire Witches, The Great Fire of London... and many more.
