Firmly bound in the publisher's original cloth binding, with pictorial gilt to the front boards and spines. The boards are in very good condition with some light wear to the extremities and minor surface soiling. Pale yellow endpapers which are free from inscriptions. One volume contains a paper receipt for the purchase of volume 3 at 8/6. The contents are clean and bright throughout with only the odd very minor spot of foxing. All edges vibrant gilt.
